Shadow cupping Sonic's cheek with both hands, tilting his head slightly to the side with wide eyes, still dripping with tears. His mouth opening, the tip of his fang pocking out as he asks sonic "Mine?" There is something almost scary to the word and movement and yet, the expression in his eyes isn't dangerous. It's questioning, nervous and... something else.

Sonic walks ahead with his arms behind his head, while Shadow lags behind a short distance with his arms crossed. Sonic looks back, a brow raised. Sonic: “Didn’t expect you to stick around for this long, Shads!” Shadow spaces out, thinking about his time with Maria and how she always talked about the stars. **Look at the stars Shadow! Aren’t they beautiful?** Shadow stops and looks out to the open field, it was brightly lit by the moon where a mountain was visible from afar. He scoffs at Sonics comment. Shadow: “Just making sure you don’t get lost. …your brain functions like a three year old kid…”

Sonic laughs at Shadows comment, not taking him seriously. He turns around to face Shadow, pointing at him with his index finger, giving a slight smirk. Sonic: “Since when do you care about where I’m going?” Sonic questioned, Shadow scoffs again with annoyance. He looks away, his expression softening. Shadow: “…It’s not about that.” Sonic has a shocked expression, seeing the black hedgehogs demeanor change.

Sonic faces him completely, curious about what Shadow was thinking. Shadow turns his face away. Sonic: “Shadow? Something on your mind bud?” Shadow snaps his head forward, back to his agitated self. Shadow: “You’re always rushing ahead and so full of yourself!” He looks down as he began to calm himself down. Shadow held his hand to his chest, slightly flustered. Shadow: “…So much so, that… You miss what’s besides you sometimes…” Sonic is caught off guard by this version of Shadow, becoming flustered himself.

Sonic expressed a wide grin. He crosses his arms and raised his brow. Sonic: “That’s very sentimental Shadow, even for you! Slowing me down when I get too ahead of myself hmm?” Sonic approached Shadow, nudging him with his hand. Sonic: “Just so you know, I’m really glad you’re here. I can’t imagine a world without you.” Shadows eyes widen as his cheeks grow hot as his heart flutters. He turns away to hide his blush. Shadow: “… You too…” Sonic and Shadow continue on their path, Shadow following closely.
