βMoney is money and people will jump at the opportunity to embed their business as a government contractor.β
This about to get so messy so fast.
Ethics are a thing of the past.
Honestly right to repair protection had a huge component to helping solve that
if replacement parts and specs were more accessible, and laws not stupid, then if the manufacturer pushes garbage adware they'll end up with a 3rd party firmware aftermarket and lose a lot of installs
"This could take down Democrats, too."
I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.
Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.
Photos of the Dems who voted with MAGA to end the shutdown without any concessions for Obamacare subsidies. Text overlay says βTRAITORSβ
We are calling on the following traitors to the American people to immediately RESIGN, for voting with MAGA to re-open the government without any concessions to save the ObamaCare subsidies millions of Americans rely on.
These chickshit Dems just threw away 40 days of leverage, betraying millions.
Important to remember!!!

I'm sure the overlap in neuropathy / mechanics of shitty regressive people is vast regardless of generation or culture of origin
13.11.2025 16:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So have we decided what happens yet when the discharge petition ultimately dies in the senate?
13.11.2025 16:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.
The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
If small scale thorium actually turns out, sure. I'm not really counting it yet but it's promising and I am 100% in support of putting money into exploring it.
Just saying it is already possible for many single family homes in the US to run almost entirely on solar for most of the year
Unfortunately with the public it has something of the airplane effect.
People are way less motivated by a bunch of highly contained and localized fatalities than by the threat of a flashy disaster however rare.
It's something we need to change before the political leverage will materialize
I'd love for thorium and smaller modular reactors to gain more traction
there's a few ways where both of those things feel like there's a bit of hot air inflating the claims which has me skeptical of them making up a major share
We do desperately need updated regs though
With respect to the grid as a whole, yes.
I truly believe though that it is wholly feasible for rural and many suburban areas to be very sustainable with even "unstable" localized generation.
I'm speaking aside from extended inclement weather or major disasters
Nuclear will be absolutely necessary as a baseline especially for dense metros and industrial regions
But with improving storage and localized small scale generation improving (eg, home solar), I hope we get to the point where most residential grids don't need significant external power.
Some thoughts on the CR/minibus.
1 The Dems negotiating with Rs were not freelancing. They coordinated with Sen Schumer. A few were ready to give in on day one, others worked to maximize appropriations wins.
Those voting for the 'deal' are the ones furthest away from electoral consequences.
Honestly, we do need to rethink how we approach governance. The world is just so many orders of magnitude more complicated and fast-changing than it was even 100 years ago let alone 250.
Frustration with how crap the government is at almost anything is a BIG part of why we are where we are.
I have to hand it to them, it's an incredible bit to publicly lose a game of chicken, admit that's what happened, and then spend the next day lecturing everyone about courage and tenacity

Folks, if we're going to survive a time like this, we're going to need to avoid burning out from an attitude of 24/7 vigilance and constant outrage.
Let people find joy where they can, please.

Meanwhile, until a new budget is passed, we keep status quo of the previous.
Insulate everyone else from their incompetence
On top of refusing to fully fund SNAP during the shutdown, the Trump regime has:
-Cut $1 billion from USDA programs supporting food banks
-Enacted tariffs that have caused food prices to rise
-Made the largest cut to SNAP in history
-Canceled the annual food security survey
Shameful.
