Throwing this out into the void again, I absolutely adore comics and know most about comics of the last 10 years, so not a fan with a lot of nostalgia for older things. Also happen to be LGBTQ+ Do any weekly comics podcasts need people to come chat comics? I'd be thrilled to join one!

I want to live my life like a bossa nova song, passing time pleasantly, gently, warmly in relaxed rhythms where nothing needs to be louder than anything else, and it's all good vibes all the time.

Aw, man. I rarely enjoy songs with a sad/melancholy bent, which is 90% of this album. I think it's the first Gorillaz album I can't say I enjoyed.

I really like Green Lantern, but I haven't read a great deal of it. I keep misremembering Carol Ferris as Pam Ferris - Who is an actress. When I was a kid I also used to confuse Thundercats' Wiley Cat and Wiley Kit with Eartha Kit.

@jimzub.bsky.social's awesome run on Conan continues in #29, Conan has become king, and barely features this issue, because we get the entire life story of the first threat to his reign. Such a cool way to introduce a new villain and make them very creepy and mysterious. Such a good read!

@kierongillen.bsky.social's podcast interview some years back is what started me doing this as much as possible. He's a writer roundly admired in comics spaces I'd seen, wrote some amazing stuff I'd loved, but didn't even always get sales figures. Had no idea how liked or not things were.

Thought I might like to knit once. Found it fiddly and annoying, and knitted my hair into it by accident. It was a short lived experiment.

This is a series I won't name just in case, but it is all finished and has been published in singles, but the TPB has been considered "Too risky" and the author has had to turn to self publishing it. AFTER a publisher published it once in singles already. C'mon wtf...

Uhm. Comics publishers will refuse to publish books with very slight trans representation (as in a character who might or might not be trans and it's never discussed) and a lesbian romance plot thread, but they're fine publishing work by proven creepers...!?
I dunno. That comes off...

There's a note in the back that mentions Tyler's baby being due very soon! I don't know how long it was since that was written, but even if it's early or late, I wanted to say congratulations!

Just read @tylerboss.bsky.social's Phantom, which is my first time ever getting to know the story, though of course I'd heard of it before. It has an interesting detective thread in it, and a very cool phantom thanks to the always incredible @martinsimmonds.bsky.social!

I absolutely loved A Quiet Place. The original movie. I cried and panicked and squirmed on the couch when the heavily pregnant mother had to sneak down those creaky steps.
I saw both the other movies, and while they don't "Ruin" the first for me, they're not a patch. Cautiously curious about this!

But I don't want to say who it is because it feels so mean to say "Yeah I never liked your hero stuff but your not hero stuff is much better."

Yaaaaagh I try to stay really positive about comics, I really don't see the point in tearing things down, someone who I have tried multiple comics by and never gelled with is doing something new in a different genre and I think it could be a way better fit than the hero stuff they wrote.
