A twist on a familiar Batman trope makes for an interesting new case!Mikel Janin doing beautiful work with Bats as always.A gem!

24/Black Diamond#1 by Brendan Columbus, @danilobeyruth.bsky.social and Lee Loughridge, just so absolutely horrible, a man's child is taken, but he can have him back... So long as he gives the kidnappers a replacement child. What this genre? Moral horror? It makes me deeply uncomfortable!

23/Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite Of Spring#3 by @patrickhorvath.bsky.social simple, but devastatingly effective. We all knew Sam was a rotten apple, but this issue makes everything we know about her pale in comparison. Her past, and now her games in the present... Ugh! Horrible!

22/Star Trek The Last Starship#1 by @jacksonlanzing.bsky.social, @collinkelly.bsky.social, @adrianbcomics.bsky.social and Heather Moore, I was not prepared for the scale of this! The idea is so interesting too, further into the future than we're used to with Trek, everything...Starts to go wrong.

21/Godzilla Destroys The Marvel Universe#3 by @gerryduggan.bsky.social, Paco Medina, @javiergarron.bsky.social and Jesus Aburtov, this is so much fun, full of huge scale spectacle and wild ideas start to finish, you can feel how much fun Gerry had writing this. EVERYONE is cool in this,it's awesome.

20/Skinbreaker#1 by @robertkirkman.bsky.social, David Finch and Annalisa Lioni, brilliantly executed story which lays out and introduces us to an entire culture and world and at the same time gives us a drama about fatherhood, rivalry and leadership. Insanely detailed artwork and gorgeously colored!

19/Escape#2 by @remender.bsky.social and Daniel Acuna, one of my favorite series of the entire year so far, this time we find out how one of our survivors ended up enlisting and what's driving him to keep going through the horror of war. Exceptionally written and stunning to look at. So, so good.

18/Ultimate Spider-Man by Jonathan Hickman, @damess.bsky.social, Matthew Wilsone and Erick Arciniega, this time we find out about Mr. Negative's past and what lead him to become who he us now. Really nicely done!

Once, two friends got very drunk and rowdy, they had a screaming match in front of a convenience store about the morality of Gimli and whether or not he was a hero. So serious it looked like it could come to blows. I was howling with laughter and holding a lamp post to keep myself up.

14/Uncanny X-Men#21 by @gailsimone.bsky.social, @lucianovecchio.bsky.social and Matthew Wilson, this layered telling of an action story, showing us in real time the HUGE mental processing one of the characters is doing, works so beautifully. I feel like I know Val and we've been on a journey.

13/Ultimate Black Panther#20 by @bryanedwardhill.bsky.social, Stefano Caselli and David Curiel, the origins of Vibranium, what T'challa must become, and then a him being a badass and rescuing a bunch of kids. I love this series. ALWAYS a visual banquet too.

I bought an air duster, a thermos with a straw, a hairdryer and a clothing steamer this week. All useful and handy things but it feels weird to spend a bunch of money at once on...Boring things.

12/Fantastic Four#3 Speaking of @ryannorth.ca, having Doom experience the creeping dread of accidentally saving over the wrong save game and destroying all your work...? Relatable. Easily my favorite current Marvel series.

OH MAN this is a great pick! I really liked this one too. It's so messed up though. I'm kind of into the totally bizarre gore of it all though.

11/One World Under Doom#7, I kind of don't want to spoil it, but I love @ryannorth.ca's Reed, and I love his Doom, and after Reed does the virtually impossible to try to best Doom... You KNOW Victor will not brook and insult of this scale from HIM. I'm wriggling my fingers in ghoulish anticipation.
