Current project pitch:

A slow-burn Walter White villain arc set in a medieval dark fantasy world, dialed up to eleven.
Small girl becomes a world-threatening danger.

Exploring themes of narrative vs truth, long-term revenge arcs, and a descent into moral extremes.

He almost immediately collapsed backwards; his face contorted in pain and disbelief. While he fell, he turned his head and their eyes met for a split second. There was recognition in it and Maerina felt validated for the first time in her life. His lips parted as if he was to say something, but no words came out. Maybe he meant to say her name, maybe he meant to beg, but in the end it did not matter. This was it. What he deserved! The whole alchemical assortment he had created came crashing down, too. All the years of pent-up neglect, the experiments on her, the rejection of her very being poured out on the ground onto the dying Court Physician in an earth-shattering primal scream accentuated by the crescendo of breaking glass and hissing acid. Broken vials and flasks had spilled their contents on him and immediately started burning away at cloth and flesh. As he lay there in front of her under the remains of his work and in between his own blood and the shards of her own existence, she finally felt free. Panting. Heaving. It was her time to savour the moment, and it was him mewling. It felt good. Justified. More glass and metal clattered down, rolling off the table, bursting into vapor on the floor. Then Maerina felt exhausted, but somehow… in a good way. There was no regret in her.

Well, it's not exactly 'science', but 'alchemy'.

But here is my MC who has been living a very harsh life under her master until she finally snaps and stabs him in the neck.

This is the beginning of her villain arc. The first time someone was forced to acknowledge she even exists.

Well, first one kid sick, then the next, then the next, and now I am, too.

But at least I get to map out the social landscape of the new mercenary band my MC has gotten herself into 😏

In my world it’s very specific:

Laws exist mostly for nobles and rich people. To protect trade and loans. That is to make sure there is enough money to fund an order of warriors who keep a lurking horror at bay that would otherwise overwhelm the whole world.

Just managed to insert this quote into my dark fantasy book and had it make total sense within the story.

That feels good man XD

How I used the fact the Melomel (a type of mead) is made in the western duchies and my MC used that fact to deduce where the main antagonist fled to.

I felt pretty smart about that 😁
