I think what's even worse is not only boring/frustrating gameplay but the fact that mixed in there is something that could be good if it were given time to have satisfying plot progression and consistent tone. It may as well just be a mediocre haunted house. You have just as much agency.

Don't use GenAI or LLMs. Those are the really bad ones. Even more important, please learn the differences between what is harmful AI and what is just automated processes. Just because a computer can perform a task, it doesn't default to being AI.
