Watching MAGA go from America First & Build a Wall to caring so deeply about plight of Iranian students is giving me whiplash.

A secure border & enforcing immigration law are fine.
Unleashing army of goons in places controlled by political opponents isn't.
And forcing immigrants to navigate a costly, years-long labyrinth of BS while empowering corporations to plunder/destabilize countries they come from is the root problem.
As a veteran, this makes me sick.
When we take our oaths, the implied contract is our service will be honored & lives not thrown away in some needless folly.
The U.S. hasn't always lived up to that, but this is a new low.
People will soon die to take focus away from Trump being a pedophile & rapist.

If Gaetz were AG though, I doubt he could have held the line on Epstein like Bondi has, especially given how compromised he himself is.
I felt at the time that he was the sacrificial nominee and nothing that's happened since has changed my mind on that.
Lack of accountability allowed this particular iceberg to keep growing until it was too big to conceal or avoid
Reckoning day is here, so what do we do with this opportunity? Do we change course or keep giving our power to those who consistently abuse it?
This should be an easy answer.
Economists can't measure happiness or a life well-lived, yet we center so much of our society around GDP & the Dow.
A strong economy is important, but what gets lost is measuring what truly makes us happy & how we might develop systems to allow people to pursue that happiness.
