Very nice surprise on this monday morning... It's only Saturday night that I sent the part to Thierry Maison ! Huge thanks to him.
This is my very very first piece for solo basset horn, I love this instrument !

This is the final part of this recording, just a little theme I wrote years ago when I was a jazz school student at the IMEP, in Paris. I hope you like it !
Your school had it all right, then !

Today, I have the pleasure to share this recording, the second part of this piano solo piece, probably one of the best pieces of music I have written so far (with my duet for english horn and clarinet)
I hope it pleases you !
Thanks, WhiskeyJack !

This is the first part of my duet for flute and clarinet, played by Maria Del Mar Jurado Bautista and Ujin Ko
Congratulations !

Many thanks to the IMEP team for this article about my musical journey !

This one is my clarinet solo piece, I hope you like it !
This is a solo piece for English horn. Clémentine Buonomo made it sound good, even though I wrote notes really too high on this one !

Maria Del Mar Jurado Bautista plays the clarinet, and Ujin Ko the flute

Today, I have the pleasure to share this duet for flute and clarinet. Let me know what you think of it !
Add to it that our all 12 tone tempered scale is a compromise, mostly to help modulate, if I get it right... And it's obvious that nature is more of a construction than a reality
20.01.2025 16:27 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'd add to that that most people would find very dissonant the approximative #4th and the flat 7th coming from the harmonic series, and most players using them to produce sounds have been correcting them for centuries.
20.01.2025 16:25 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It took me years, but it lead to the pieces I'm sharing today. This one, the second part of my duet for english horn and clarinet, is probably my best achievement yet.
I'll never thank Thomas enough for the impact on my writing !

Years ago, watching the videos on @orchestrationol.bsky.social about the moooc was a turnpoint in my writing. That's when I realized I had to write for every single instrument before I write for a large ensemble.
By the way, if you want to see the score, it's my pleasure to share it with you, just send me your email address !
19.01.2025 10:45 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I played with Arlet for years in a previous band, he is the kind of musician who plays jazz or classic, piano or percussions seamlessly. It's an honor to have someone like him playing my music, and I'm thrilled to share it with you !
19.01.2025 08:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0As for the French horn, it sure would be on my list! Actually, I wanted my kids to play French horn and bassoon, because you always find great opportunities to play (and it sounds excellent)
18.01.2025 19:05 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'm just getting back to midi orchestration after maybe 10 years off, I take note, I didn't know about this one.

18.01.2025 18:00 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'm not a wind player myself...My kids are beginning flute and clarinet, though. But it's more of a long time passion : those instruments have always catched me. If I were to start everything again, I think I 'd learn bassoon, and English horn
