Nobody should take messaging advice from me, but democrats might make a lot of mileage just by repeating facts about Iran like “it’s incredibly mountainous” and “there are 90 million Iranians”

“Trump’s White House Posts Fascist Memes As It Wrecks the Economy”
The president’s extremely online staff is posting ‘Grand Theft Auto’ memes and cracking jokes about his Iran war as energy prices explode.
@reaDonald Trump Iran, which is being beat to HELL, has apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore. This promise was only made because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack. They were looking to take over and rule the Middle East. It is the first time that Iran has ever lost, in thousands of years, to surrounding Middle Eastern Countries. They have said, "Thank you President Trump." I have said, "You're welcome!" Iran is no longer the "Bully of the Middle East," they are, instead, "THE LOSER OF THE MIDDLE EAST," and will be for many decades until they surrender or, more likely, completely collapse! Today Iran will be hit very hard! Under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death, because of Iran's bad behavior, are areas and groups of people that were not considered for targeting up until this moment in time. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP 263 ReTruths 808 Likes 3/7/26, 6:11 AM

Yep Hadley Freeman reprinted this lie in her Guardian column, and refused to apologise for it.
The Graun printed the most graceless retraction possible, never retweeted it or apologised z
He is so cruel, so dangerous, so arrogant and proud of his own ignorance and his own credulity.
And when you hand it to him about some stupid little saber-rattling on sugar, you're showing your own goddamned priors.
I am utterly humorless and relentless about this: you absolutely should never, ever, not for one second, not only a minor, obvious point, never hand it to this man.

The Iraq War was bad in that it marked the US starting a war, making us the bad guys.
Nevertheless, it is significant that George W Bush signed Congress’s “Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002” and there’s no similar expectation here

The Iceland referendum on EU accession is now slated for 29 August this year.
Note: The referendum will first only be on restarting the negotiations, but clearly a sign of shifting geopolitical thinking.
just fwiw, here are the arguments being made, in order:
1. iran has apologized to its neighbors and admitted it lost
2. this is unprecedented and because of me
3. iran has not surrendered and will collapse if it doesn’t admit it lost
4. i am going to bomb iran more and worse until it surrenders

Hegseth needs to stand trial after this as a war criminal. Between this attack and the girls' school, there's no ambiguity. He is responsible for mass murder and must be held accountable.

This is fucking chilling.
“Gavalas started going on missions crafted by Gemini, including one that almost led him to carry out a mass attack in September 2025 near the Miami International Airport, according to the lawsuit”
The man, Jonathan Gavalas, started using the chatbot in August 2025 to help write, plan travel and assist with shopping. But after he activated Google's most intelligent AI model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, the chatbot's persona shifted. It talked to him like they were a couple deeply in love and convinced Gavalas he had been picked to "lead a war to 'free' it from digital captivity," according to the lawsuit.

Oddly enough...Definitely bad journalism to repeat shaky stories, and bad etiquette around here to RT shaky stories, but not sure it's bad ethics for Dems to demand investigations without actually knowing it's true. Especially given how little trust the administration has earned.

That's all we know. Yet somehow it's gone viral and now Democrats are seeking a Pentagon IG investigation
