Almost 14 years ago, I started developing a Monte Carlo code for dust evolution in protoplanetary disks. The code is now publicly available! 🚀 This was possible thanks to the hard work of @turbulenthuman.bsky.social ‪and @nereagurru.bsky.social‬ 🙌

Gas disks around young stars are actually not very flat, but dust particles are not pressure-supported (as opposed to the gas) and larger dust aggregates settle to much thinner disks and eventually form flat planetary systems :-)

I have a couple of colleagues who would qualify but they are not here, LinkedIn is where you find them ;-)
