This will be a test case: if Republicans can keep from holding this election, expect them to avoid holding others in the future.

The girls coming into the lambing field, nice and calm, about a week before they're due. This field is one of our "in by's - and after 9 years of this routine, they all know the way, and seem happy to come in. With 2 meals a day, shelter, and on-call attendants, who wouldn't be? πŸ˜‰

Home | Highland Wool

We were disappointed by the lack of processing options for the annual
wool harvest from our native Hebridean sheep. That's why we've teamed up with other farmers, crofters and crafters to create Highland Wool CIC, and are building a low impact micro-mill on the farm. www.highlandwool.scot

Apathy is a major problem. We see it here and elsewhere, and the dangers it poses are on display, not just in Scotland, but also writ large to the west of us.

66% IF we campaign on a wellbeing economy. That 66% needs to be consistent and reflected in the polls and election results.

I think you can judge a nation by its response to child poverty. Scotland isn't perfect, but I'm proud of her ambitions for improvement.

She said from the start that indy would come when the people demanded it, and described consistant 60% support as the benchmark. Without that level of support, it's going to be impossible for anyone to force Westminster to the table.

Worrisome, when we remember how badly trump & co handled the covid outbreak during his first term.

New Poll Result: Wellbeing Economy points to 66% SUPERMAJORITY for Scottish Independence

When I said I was going to vote yes in 2014, unionists said I was voting with my heart, instead of my head. I was, but never could see the problem with that. It seems I'm not alone.

Scotland’s pursuit of independence represents a bold step towards self-determination, empowering its people to shape their future in line with their values and aspirations. With a rich history, vibrant culture, & abundant natural resources, Scotland has all the tools to thrive as a sovereign nation.

"This is now the defining characteristic of this one trick phony Prime Minister... Does he understand why the people of these islands, especially those of us in Scotland, treat him with such contempt?"

Aidan was the first sheep I bought for love, early in our farming journey. He came to us with his sire and was a magnificent animal. Farmers are taught not to get attached, Aidan taught us to ignore that advice. The Harris Stick Maker turned Aidan's horn into a lovely reminder of my first best boy.

My first boys, sire and son. The foundations of our flock, gone now, but living on in their progeny. I loved these boys... but to be fair, we love too many of our boys, with quite a few pets in the flock. But they pay us back with wool and laughter - look at the twinkle in those eyes!

So, nothing to do with the point I'm trying to make re journalistic responsibilities. I believe this was called hijacking in the old bad x-world. While I'm usually up for discussing the point you're making, perhaps you'd kindly start a thread about it, instead of changing the subject?

01.12.2024 12:18 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

My comments are about journalists taking responsibility for their language. Whether we agree about Coul Links or not is beside the point, and I'd like this thread to stay on topic.

I agree with you about Coul Links, and have signed petitikns on the matter, but what's your point per this thread? Planning permission is indeed a devolved matter, but it's not yet been given. Both sides are still arguing, and it will go to Highland council before getting to Scottish ministers.

Redirecting...

We've always loved the turbines we can see from our farm. I like windmills. But the scale of this windy gold rush is monstrous, and will destroy sensitive habitats as well as small scale tourism that locals depend on. This map is just our area: www.facebook.com/share/p/wHxm...

Words matter. Using words like "allow" indicate acquiesce to a power structure that only benefits one side. Indy supporters are waking up to this in Scotland: we will never achieve independence (or even further devolution) while we wait for Westminster to "allow" it. No country ever has.

THE 2nd GREAT BRITISH ENERGY HEIST
YouTube video by The Scotland Channel THE 2nd GREAT BRITISH ENERGY HEIST

Scotland’s energy double whammy:
- Scotland pays highest transmission charges in Europe to export our electricity to the south of England.
- Scotland pays highest electricity bills in UK to use our own electricity.
What’s the point of the Union if it doesn’t benefit Scotland?

Yes, and he reveals just how hard it is to look in the mirror, and see how he, as a journalist, is contributing to the problem by talking as if anyone "allows" Scotland to keep a law system older than the union. Nobody allowed it, or anything else Scotland has fought for and won.
