We use the term a cultural geopolitics of hosting to demonstrate how hosting intersects with dynamics of geopolitics and culture through and in the multiple spaces of home. We hope to use the term to question the multiscalar and relational understandings of hospitality.

This article was written before Israel's current War on Gaza but we hope to demonstrate the increasingly violent ways that the home becomes entangled in war both culturally and politically.

This article is based on my research in Palestinian homestays 9 yrs ago and @Sarah_Hughes90's research on refugee hosting. We muddy the cultural/political borders of home + hosting and show how the home is a site of geopolitical violence across scales.
