Bangkoks vibrance hits you right away. There’s color everywhere, from the buildings to the flowers budding from the trees. Then there’s the gold and white glow from the temples catching the sun. You instantly feel like you’re in a place that’s one of a kind.

Speaking of 6 months…we’ve officially been away from the US for half a year.

Where did the time go?!

It’s still no doubt a blessing but something we’ll be mindful of over the next 6 months…

Theres the transportation element via trains, flights, taxis, etc. It takes its toll as well and time spent in security and immigration.

Some days we just need to rest, catch up on Netflix, read, laundry, and calls with friends/family.

Over the past month, we’ve traveled to four countries, visiting numerous cities and towns. We’ve stayed in 16 different locations, averaging about 2.5 days per hotel. I’ll say this: while this pace works well for a few weeks of vacation, it’s not sustainable long-term. We’re exhausted.

We’ve gone from cashless to majority cash only. I miss the convenience of Alipay and Weixin Pay but not the transaction fees.

The rainfall in Thailand is unpredictable. I can live with this being what they would call winter though. 90 degrees and showers over gray and 20 any day. The sun still peeks out every once in awhile.

Been in Chengdu for a few days now and a noticeable thing on the road is how many EVs there are (including mopeds). I’m sure this is due to my location being in the city center. Outside of the honking, the hum of traffic is relatively low.

Everywhere we’ve gone, people have been patient and kind, quick to use a translator app to help rather than turn us away frustratingly.

A few people have even jumped in to translate for us. It’s much appreciated!

When taking longer trips with frequent stops, finding time to do laundry can sometimes be tricky, especially when you're trying to balance it with costs. Luckily, we discovered our hotel had free laundry machines 🤌🏿✨

Just landed in Shanghai. First time seeing an Air China COMAC in the flesh.

Can’t believe it’s already been a week but the Singapore GP was such an enjoyable experience. Grabbed grand stand tickets this year which got us access to all the zones and the Singapore Flyer. We got some great views of the race along with access to the track after the race. Won’t forget it!

Officially in the third season of travel

Never have I once wanted a parent lock on social media until now…

Today was the fastest running pace I’ve achieved in some time.

I was able to sustain a 7:25 pace without emptying the tank.

Hit a 6:50 pace without much muscle tension or feeling of a pull.

The 4.5 mile total all in felt like a moderate effort.

This is week 6/8 of my 5k training schedule.

I challenged a sumo wrestler yesterday and lived to tell the tale. I even have a scraped pinky toe if that counts as a battle scar.

I was able to get feedback and course correct immediately. I’ll apply it a few more times before running it back next week.

Took my Japanese instructor along with me on the phone when I went to the Starbucks to order a coffee. It wasn’t my best work but it hit me how much contextualized and scenario based learning is.

Met with a prospective coaching client this morning, recorded a webinar, and now on a train to Hakone.

Understanding how long it takes to condition your body. The time it takes to stretch and rehab to maintain. Ultimately your age plays a big role in all the above because it takes longer.

I know many of us took our youth for granted but damn this is humbling!

I’ve started training to lower my 5k pace. Being a former collegiate athlete it feels good getting back into a purposeful regimen but it quickly makes you recognize everything it takes:

The commitment and consistency you have to follow through with.

Since leaving my job majority of my income has been from selling season tickets and subscriber support. 🫣
