DECP Chair, Helena Bunn, inspiring hope with an overview of the changes in narratives about education & those who need something additional and/or different to access, most recently in the Report of the SEND Review published yesterday. We are a profession unified in hope & determination.

EPs doing what EPs do best: exploring, unpicking, safely naming difficult issues, collaborative problem solving & developing a joint vision. The outcomes of the discussions and visions captured by the conference team in a panel at the end of today, will feed into DECP plans for the year ahead.

Anthea Gulliford revisiting where the story the Educational Psychology profession: where we’ve come from, where we are now and the future that we’d like to be part of creating; challenges & opportunities and how all EPs regardless of context, can work together to respond to these.

NAPEP Chair Sue Franklin introduced invaluable resources created by NAPEP which detail the many roles, responsibilities and remit of educational psychologists, in all contexts, and a rallying call to galvanise EPs to reclaim our expertise and proudly share our unique skills and contributions.

Vivian Hill and George Harris, shared their research about the phenomenal input, breadth and impact of Trainee EPs placement work in EP Services and reminding us of the huge value to CYP in the communities that we serve, of supporting the training of our EPs of the future.

A summary of the tireless campaigning work that the DECP has been involved as part of the @bpsofficial.bsky.social #PsychologyMatters mission. Gavin Morgan shared the sheer volume of the work carried out to raise the profile of & key messages in the media and with policy-makers over the last year.
