I’ve had this discussion on here before so I want to clarify:

This applies broadly, not specifically. I’m not talking about anyone with a brain injury that affects comprehension or about anyone who *can* read difficult literature but prefers light literature.

Im not even trying to imply it is morally bad, just that it is perpetuating illiteracy. Reading is a muscle and it only develops through effort.

I have no problem with people who read fanfic, but I do think there’s a systemic problem that so many people can ONLY read fanfic or the equivalent of the lightest of light novels

Parents who are content to see their kid read “anything” but that thing is exclusively Captain Underpants etc.

Think about all the libertarians you've encountered who will read a book and *entirely* miss the point of the book. Literally not perceiving that the book is describing a dystopia, or identify satire of real world events, or identify who is the villain.

Ugh I moved from a mail-in state to a vote-at-the-polls state and it’s so utterly backwards. Completely pathetic to have to go STAND IN LINE to vote. mind bogglingly stupid.

I brought my out of state license instead of my passport and it took 30 minutes for them to process me and give me a ballot
