For first meeting bring a book you've read recently or an old favourite to talk about, all genres are fair game. We'll also discuss what you want from the club, ideas and proposals, then settle on a book for next month. RSVP by emailing books@waystonebooks.co.uk

Gotta use what you can in the absence of a chandelier. Our first After Hours event was a lot of fun, thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate our first week in business! Here's a photo of @louisbarabbas.bsky.social singing songs in the shop.

Thanks to everyone who came into the shop on our first day, it was so lovely and we’re really enjoying seeing people’s stories and posts about the books they bought!
So who wants to do it all again?

Article about new bookshop opening in Dunvegan. The text well exceeds bluesy's word count unfortunately. It talks about combating social isolation with events, being community focused and how reading is a timeless activity.

We did it! We have officially reached and surpassed our crowdfunder target. It means so much to us that people are willing to support this project, we’ve been truly overwhelmed by the enthusiasm from friends, neighbours and strangers. With your help the shop is going to be such a wonderful place!

So we’ve just about got our fiction section sorted now but what about the rest? What are your go-to books about culture, history, nature? What are the essentials in gardening, cookery, crafts, economics, travel, biography, philosophy…? Tell us about your favourites!

We’re thinking more seriously about stock these days (though the shop is still sadly shelf-less) and thought we’d turn to the people for more suggestions!
What book do you think everyone should read? It could be a niche favourite you desperately want to talk about with someone else or a classic!T
