Vallira is 5'6" and Elgar'nan is 8'. I've approximated their height difference to be something close to this:

Early in the war against the Titans, a red lyrium cluster (not blighted, just angry) came up from the ground and impaled Vallira through her abdomen. Sylaise was able to save her by getting rid of some of her organs that were affected.

Vallira is adaptable for the most part. No armor works just as well as heavy armor, though both require different tactics in battle (of which she is well versed.)

The only thing is she refuses to wear boots/shoes of any kind. She is always barefoot.
