Ways and Means Brings the Hammer Down on Energy Credits The House Ways and Means Committee issued its proposed language for inclusion in Congress’s massive budget reconciliation package. It’s the opening attempt to reduce spending in order to partially…

Amid a flurry of own-goals and poorly designed policies, the proposal to roll back clean energy investments in the upcoming budget stands out.

This bill is a lose-lose-lose: more pollution, higher energy costs, and worse economic outcomes.

For the first time in U.S. history, wind and solar generated more electricity than coal for an entire year!

Renewable power is getting seriously cheap, while old power generation technologies like coal and natural gas have no hope of coming down in price.

Now that we have the technology to reduce emissions without any tradeoffs in cost or quality, not reducing emissions is an indefensible decision.

If you are choosing to not reduce your emissions, it reflects poorly upon you, and makes me think less of you or your organization.

CO2 pollution is 20-times larger than all trash production worldwide!

To think that the consequences of this pollution could be dealt with or lived with is absolutely ridiculous.

We are setting ourselves up for a century of suffering with our current lifestyles.

Deforestation in the Amazon has halved in the last few years Lula da Silva is making progress, just like he did during his previous presidency.

Amazing news on rapid decreases in Amazon deforestation under Lula da Silva's administration, and another great read from Hannah Ritchie.

It will still be difficult to end deforestation in the Amazon by 2030, but it just might be possible.

With current rates of CO2 emissions we have LESS THAN 5 YEARS before the 1.5 C target is guaranteed to be breached. Let's hope that all of the COP negotiators understand how dire this situation has become.
