This show is batshit crazy and becomes even more so as it goes on. The ballet sequences are gorgeous. Luke Kirby is perfection. And this American debut by a French actress who basically learned English to play her part is a stunning breakthrough performance.

Etoile is really enjoyable. I like movies and shows about ballet because it’s one thing I can never imagine being able to do with my body. Sure let me just dance around on my goddamn toenails.

Anyway, if you liked Center Stage, watch Etoile. Totally worth it.

How am I only finding out this week that we’re getting a new super-expensive looking Bunheads 2.0 show from Amy Sherman-Palladino starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Luke Kirby that starts streaming in a few days?

Someone needs to cast Rachel Brosnahan and Luke Kirby in another project to take advantage of their chemistry.

A romcom? But like a sexy fun one. A screwball.

Or maybe a noir? She could play a woman who is no good and he could definitely play a world weary cynic who is optimistic despite that.

Perpetually impressed that Luke Kirby keeps finding new ways to be charming.
