Vince was, and while they were talking, he ended up composing "Linus & Lucy," and the rest, as they say, is history.

When he got off the bridge he stopped at the first phone booth hje could find and called the dj to find out who wrote the song, and then if he had any contact information he could share.
"Well, he's from San Francisco, so maybe check the phone book," the dj replied.
