I just returned from a visit to Gir National Park, my favourite place in the world, and the last home of the Asiatic Lion. We were blessed with incredible sightings, and here are a few photos from the trip! I'll likely post more as well as I process and edit the photos!

Update from Saadani Lion Project: After 100 days of intense fieldwork, we wrapped up the SECR population estimation survey for 🦁 in Saadani NP. Besides getting to see these unique and shy🦁, I am extremely intrigued with how frequently they hunt big prey likeπŸ¦’πŸƒ #mammals 🦊

I haven't seen any starter packs made for behavioral ecology yet, so I decided to create one!

If you are a behavioral ecologist (any career stage), please reply so I can add you to the list so we can more easily find each other.

It has been a hot minute since I've been on here! The PhD hunt continues and I've been doing some remote work back home.

I wanted to ask what the ecology Academic community is like on here? Is it as active compared to Twitter? Not the biggest fan but felt the most updates happen there.

A question to the academics here, where do I start looking if I wish to study lions (preferably African but ideally both African and Asiatic lions) for a PhD? A bit overwhelmed by the internet, heh.
