Sometimes watching me some classic TV a favorite actor will keep popping up. Recently it’s Sabrina Scharf, Retired from acting in 70s, became a lawyer, activist, ran for Cal State Senate. Not her birthday & yes she’s still with us, but what the hell, we could do worse than looking at Sabrina Scharf.

To kick off Women’s History Month, let us honor pioneering French composer Éliane Radigue who passed away last week at 94. Her incorporation of Tibetan Buddhist spiritual beliefs into her experimental compositions in electronic music, particularly her minimalist dronescapes were groundbreaking. RIP.

We had a lot of fun with that. Both of them, actually.

Been wanting to paint the Joker for while and “The Joker Sprang Forth” is also my tribute to one of my favorite comic artists, the great Dick Sprang. His Joker has always been my favorite. Hope it honors his work as well as offering a bit of my own take. Acrylic on 12X16 canvas. Msg any inquiries.

I was going to rant about how A.I. doesn’t belong in the arts and decided to post one of these stupid things instead.

Just took a new pic of one of my favorite commissions: my cover painting for GONJI: DARK VENTURES Ted Rypel’s heroic fantasy book featuring the exciting novella “Dark Venture.” Ted’s literate Sabatake Gonji-no-Sadowara is unique in the annals of sword & sorcery. Available where finer books are sold.

And when you see pages of this, one realizes her incredible patience.

Big shout out to editor Vicki Smeraldi who did incredible job laying out shots for my article on THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD in Castle of Frankenstein 41, where I dissect the finest action scene in fantasy cinema. No Rondo Award category for Vicki's layout, but hope magazine & article get nomination.

I’m grateful that for 35 years my play of ROBIN HOOD (Samuel French/Concord) has been performed hundreds of times around the world, the majority by young people. This year I’m particularly psyched about the one at Oxford which will apparently be outdoors like our original production. 1/2

Thought it might be fun to look at the stages of our old dark house in DARK AND STORMY NIGHT, from my early Photoshopped promo art, to Anton Tremblay’s beautiful concept drawing, through his design and build (with his team) to fruition. 1/2

Photo of an actual rock taken by an actual phone with an actual camera, by an actual rock scientist who'll study it until it cannot be studied any longer. In fact I’ve already discovered it’s completely hollow on the inside which leads me to one conclusion.

I might not be an actual rock scientist.

4th & final painting of batch of my recently recovered science fiction illustrations, this one for “True Magic” another story by imaginative Robert A. Metzger for Aboriginal Science Fiction mag. Acrylic on 16X20 canvas. Definitely one of my favorites. Once again of course I hired the cheapest model.
