Doing science today... Hmmm... Let's see what happens when I mix a little phthalocyanine with a fair amount of cadmium... then add a touch of dioxazine... a bit of titanium... and just a smidge of chromium oxide...

I shall report back... Hopefully.

I paint a fair amount of commissions, but I also do a lot of paintings for myself, simply because I enjoy it. Too many perhaps. These must go. To make room for more, of course (Apparently I have a painting problem). If interested in any, make an offer via private message.

My latest painting is a bit of horror-scifi-surrealism. “First Seen as Blur,” acrylic on 12” X 16” canvas panel. Besides selling these paintings I also license the image for book covers, album covers, etc.

Jack Palance’s infectiously robust Mr. Hyde, with Billie Whitelaw, in the excellent Dan Curtis TV production THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE (1968). He looks a bit like early renditions of the Joker.

Hot off the easel, the latest in the Lost Skeleton Gallery of monster portraits, Version 3 of Skelly himself, acrylic on 12” X 16” canvas panel. This is the first one that wasn’t a commission, so this guy is available for purchase. Shoot me a message if interested.

Finished 1st season of THE GOLD, riveting account of '83 Brink’s-Mat robbery. Impressive deck of characters, terse Neil Forsyth’s script, gritty direction by Aneil Maria & Lawrence Gough. Cast is spot-on, especially magnetic Charlotte Spencer as DI Nicki Jennings, who sometimes resembles Diana Rigg.

A giant of cinema has left us. RIP Tatsuya Nakadai (1932 - 2025).

Yet another… Do pick up the two books I have of these if you haven’t already. Makes wonderful conversation over ironing or scaling fish. Or even ironing fish.

Yeah it’s an invisible human-sized dinosaur, but still surprisingly enjoyable, effective “compound/siege horror” like KILLER SHREWS, NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST, ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS etc.
