The second is ethical. Gating unique content for a different product behind $300 is absolutely vile. I'd be shocked if EA did that, let alone a company I trusted to be better.

It's done. After seven years on my current account alone, I've ended my Exceptional Friendship in #FallenLondon

After more than a decade, @failbettergames.bsky.social is no longer a company I'm comfortable being subscribed to.

I would have happily spent up to $100, just like I did for #SunlessSea but this is frankly disgusting and I've never been more disappointed in @failbettergames.bsky.social

It's a shame. I was looking forward to supporting the #FallenLondon Kickstarter, but after Hannah's discord message about the Sullier of Probabilities, I can no longer in good conscious do so. I'm also considering ending my Exceptional Friendship.

Now, my 69 year-old father still has his, and he isn't a cheeto nazi. It was his first number after he moved out, and he keeps it for sentimental reasons. Also, a valid but ignored number is useful for grocery store memberships and the like. Like a dummy email account you never actually use.

I want to help, but $300 is beyond the pale.

Are their currently any discussions about making the Sullier of Probabilities available at lower levels or as a separate add-on? I ask, because politely as I can put this, my enthusiasm has gone from donating $50-$75 despite not actually playing ttrpgs, to probably skipping it altogether.
