There's that AND the VAT on school fees. How is one to cope?

In the world of MPs and their circle, it is inconceivable that a house could cost less than ยฃ300k.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Yes, that's true. Though I always felt there was a fundamentally racist undertone to Tebbit that he had the intelligence to keep hidden. Jenrick hasn't.

I am so tired of reading stories like this where foxes are vilified and demonised by the press ๐Ÿคฌ

The truth is that we destroyed their habitat to build our homes and then moan and whinge when they dare exhibit natural behaviours looking for food! ๐ŸฆŠ

The Animal #aDNA Research Community is looking for new members to its steering committee!

If you are an ECR and interested in the field, we would love to have you on board. We particularly would value committee representation from outside of Europe.

It was inevitable that โ€œtoo many people speaking Polishโ€ Brexitism would become outright โ€œtoo many brown peopleโ€

And itโ€™s what people like Gove, David Davis and Johnson enabled

#CanIHazPDF In Aspects of the Tain ( 1992) Jim Mallory has a chapter in which he argues that the descriptions of swords etc in the Tain are anachronistic, being early med weapons rather than Iron Age.
Would anyone have a PDF of that chapter at all that I can pop up for the students?

Echoes here of that UK university on the southwest edge of Coventry and with a CV4 postcode that identifies as being in Warwick.

I again return to my theory that Rachel Reeves was startled by a spider as a child. Nothing else explains this malicious revelling in ignorance.

Rachel Reeves clears planning blockage amid โ€˜good relationshipโ€™ with developer Chancellor says 20,000 homes were being held up due to โ€˜some snails that are a protected species or somethingโ€™

"Rachel Reeves unblocked a development of 20,000 homes that were being held up by a rare snail, after being approached by a developer with whom she said, 'we have a good relationship'

Not only stupid and ignorant, but crooked with it

Indefensible

Rachel Reeves clears planning blockage amid โ€˜good relationshipโ€™ with developer Exclusive: Chancellor says 20,000 homes were being held up due to โ€˜some snails that are a protected species or somethingโ€™

Leaked video from speech to Tech bosses at JP Morgan Tech Stars event appears to show Chancellor Rachel Reeves boasting of a "good relationship with the developer" as one of the rarest creatures in Britain "some snails on the site that are a protected species or something" could pay the price.

Damn right! Sounds as if it's Anisus vorticulus, which is small (and not far away) but not 'microscopic and you can't even see it'. It has basically three sites in SE England. Reeves is depressingly blinkered and shallow.
