Hot on the tail of announcing the destruction of MfE, the regime is smashing more core state capacities, with a bill to abolish the census, and a consequent one amending reserved provisions of the Electoral Act to say how they'll be determining electorate boundaries. Both come into force in 2030.

This election year remember the political science concept “the conservative dilemma”
A party that represents the interests of the wealthy and powerful cannot win a democratic election on economic issues, so they create culture wars
NZ First is now consistently using nazi catchphrases in party political statements. you'd think that media *at least* would be pillorying him for this, and yet...

02.03.2026 06:10 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yes Iran hit Israel many times, and it’s their right and duty to their citizens to defend their country and sovereignty. However, they didn’t do the following: - prevent ambulances from reaching injured people - shoot the press - burn children on purpose - shoot emergency medical workers - shoot, bomb and burn surrounding civilians - snipe babies in their heads - maim people indiscriminately and for sport - roll over anyone with a tank - slaughter whole generations of civilians - starve Israelis - shut their electric, gas or water off - turn their communications off - stop food supplies - r#pe anyone - arrest Israeli children - spit on anyone - storm the synagogues - drop bombs intentionally on displaced people - make jokes of hungry, injured and murdered children on TikTok/Instagram The list goes on. This was a just response.

At this point I welcome the self-immolation of the UK Labour Party. The quicker it burns to the ground the quicker progressives will move to supporting parties that show class solidarity, support international law, green the economy and energy generation etc etc.

Simeon Brown MP Labour’s COVID-19 restrictions were some of the most stringent in the world, and Kiwis paid the price. New Zealanders remember not being able to visit loved ones in hospital, struggling to secure a managed isolation spot just to return home, and keeping their kids home from school for months on end. Aucklanders felt this more than most, with Labour’s decisions leading to the region spending more than six months in lockdown – the longest of any region in the country. The uncertainty, the isolation, and the toll it took on families, small business owners, and communities were all a result of decisions made during that time. Those decisions had a significant impact on everyday Kiwis, and it is important we take the time to fully understand why those decisions were made, so that any future response properly weighs the health and economic needs of all New Zealanders. Our Government expanded a Royal Commission Inquiry into the COVID-19 response, and yesterday we received their final report. The Prime Minister has asked me to lead the Government’s response to its recommendations – because New Zealanders deserve answers, and we are committed to making sure the lessons of that period are never forgotten.
#NZpol I’m not liking the tone or angle he takes with this. It feels like foreshadowing pushing negative views "because it was Labour".
This would be rewriting the past to suit election-year politics.
Many of us warned that the second "add-on" phase looked to include political motivations,

“Critics warn this could effectively embed U.S. surveillance capabilities into another sovereign state’s information infrastructure.”
Read this alarming article and decide whether the limited focus from NZ media on this story is acceptable given the context of US fascism and worldwide aggression.
The comment section though... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

A few possibilities:
* You believe that ‘visa free’ access to the USA is worth more than your citizens’ rights
* You’re ideologically aligned with the US govt
* You’ve been threatened with more than just loss of visa-free travel
* You’re very stupid
* They promised some benefit
* 1 or more 👆🏻
