🇺🇦DAY 04 of my journey to Dnipro. Western Ukraine is forest and farmland in every direction.

I’m on Ukrainian soil. Ten minutes after departing Warsaw our train was delayed by a jumper. So terribly sad. A young male, probably in his 20’s.

🇺🇦DAY 04 of my journey to Ukraine. My passport got stamped at the border crossing. I said “Slava Ukraïni” to the guard when he handed back my passport. He responded back in kind. My Orange Flex roaming package is working great. I will get a Kyivstar eSIM at a store when I arrive in Kyiv.

Second trip. Humanitarian assistance. Stand up to fascism.

Rolling again. 3 hour delay. Bless all the police and fire responders. Make every day MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY.

I will be in Dnipro for 10 days.

🇺🇦DAY 3 of my journey to Ukraine. The train arrived at Warsaw East on time. Then there was a mad dash to the correct car. And then only 10 minutes away from the station and a poor soul commit suicide on our train’s track. Now there’s a priest outside, presumably waiting for next of kin.

🇺🇦DAY 3 of my journey to Ukraine. Waiting for the Kyiv Express. Warsaw to Kyiv in 16-17 hours. No air travel since 2022 thanks to the Kremlin.

My new hero is Marek Edelman. He fought fascism. Please look him up.

🇺🇦DAY 03 of my journey to Ukraine. I visited this morning the Jewish Cemetery in Warsaw. I was moved to tears by the inscription on the tombstone of Marek Edelman. He was the last surviving leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. The Bund Fighters killed 24-100 Nazis.

🇺🇦DAY 3 of my journey to Ukraine. I am about to visit the Jewish Cemetery in Warsaw. The Nazis starved to death 100,000 Jews living inside the Warsaw Ghetto.

🇺🇦DAY 3 of my 2nd volunteer tour to Ukraine. I board this evening the Kyiv Express from Warsaw. I was surprised to see this public park in Warsaw. The Polish have more sense than Donald Trump.

I board the Kyiv Express in Warsaw this afternoon. I'll be volunteering for 10 days in Dnipro. Please follow my dispatches here. I hope to report on how Ukraine plans to to win in spite of Trump.

Matt, I'm in Warsaw. Taking the train this afternoon for Kyiv. It will take 16-17 hours. I'll have a layover in Kyiv for a few days then another 6 hour train to Dnipro. I'll be volunteering with DOBRA SPRAVA (GOOD DEEDS) for 10 days. I will be around 60 miles from active combat zones.
