In 1973, a veto-proof majority of Congress took the position that POTUS’s constitutional powers to use military force are limited to:

1) declaration of war

2) specific statutory authorization

3) national emergency triggered by attack on U.S., its territories or possessions, or armed forces. 1/n

The use of military force to oust a dictatorship so a sovereign people can realize self-determination is at least justifiable, if not usually practical

Trumpism is not that. It’s the use of military force to kill or abduct individual leaders & intimidate governments into becoming client states
