Fair to say this is a classic bottle you see all over the place, but I’ve never been tempted before. I don’t think I will be buying a bottle after trying it either. A little harsh and rather sweet.

Another familiar core range dram behind door 8, but I’ve not had one for a good while. Despite the lower abv it’s delicious and easy drinking.

This was good, but I’ve had better batches of Ledaig 10

First bottle I have managed to get since 2020. Hoping this batch is as good as I remember

That’s a shame, Paul. They’re not something I’d buy for myself, but it was a nice birthday gift. I quite enjoy opening it each day and seeing what I have. Best time to buy is Black Friday when they are trying to get rid of them half price.

There’s been some really nice surprises so far in this calendar, but I do think a few of them are Master of Malt trying to shift some harder to sell stock πŸ˜† This isn’t great, but it’s drinkable.

It’s in the Springbank and Benromach ballpark for me. Lightly peated and a little bit funky. The 12 year old is very good despite them adding colour to it.

Tonight’s advent calendar dram is another one of the better core range whiskies on the market.

A very familiar dram behind door number 5 this evening

I think I was one of the people who quite liked it

I don’t know a lot about them to be honest. Tried a couple of their whiskies and they’ve all had lots of bold flavour and been very different to Scotch.

Yeah i’m pretty much the same. This isn’t one I’d buy, but I would get through a bottle no problem

A delicious dram behind door number 3 this evening. Very fruity with apple and jammy raspberry and a fair amount of spice

Another smoky dram behind door 2 of the calendar. I like sweet peat, but this one is waaayyy too sweet and artificial tasting. Hopefully a better drop tomorrow.

Day 1 of the advent calendar isn’t a bad one at all. Sweet and smoky peat.

Sunday afternoon tipple and another bottle down. Smoky and industrial Caol Ila at its finest.

It’s less than Β£25 on Amazon right now and there’s a sherry cask for the same price that I need to buy. 47% non-chill filtered and natural colour. Although it doesn’t say that on the label sadly, it did in their press release.

It’s in a place called Abergwyngregyn. The Aber Falls is a short walk from the distillery and the river the water comes from runs alongside it.

They came onto the scene with a decent inaugural that got me interested, but followed it up with a rubbish 40% supermarket whisky. Then they started doing some 46% plus stuff but priced it stupidly high. They’ve started to rectify it now with bottles like this, but I need to try more from them.

I still don’t know what to make of Aber Falls, but this was a really tasty bottle packed full of flavour at a bargain price.

The 2025’s were all in the old tall round bottles due to a fire in the glass factory. There will be a date stamped on the bottle from when it was bottled

Would love to try some of their triple distilled liquid one day. Need to get myself to Campbeltown one day!
