100%. Games don’t really need to look better at this point

I mean we already know the Xbox handheld is gonna be that price and PS5 Pro is $699. Even the Switch 2 is expensive which is weird for Nintendo. I don’t like it, but it’s just the reality we live in.

I’m not in any rush for the new consoles btw. There’s still plenty of life left in them, and obviously the cross gen window will be even longer next go around. My point is that I don’t view cross gen as a negative.

Newer games haven’t been bad but in some cases having to make compromises has been really annoying. FF7 Rebirth for example was so blurry in perf mode I had to play the 30 FPS mode. I imagine new consoles with the ML stuff for rendering should solve a lot of issues.

Reading the era thread about next gen spec rumours for PS6/NeXtbox and gotta laugh when I see people complain about cross gen. I loved cross gen period; playing PS4 level games with higher (and locked) frame rates and higher res was awesome. GoW, Horizon, GT7 were all great on PS5.
