I’ve had to fiddle with mine as my kid and I learn together. It used to be way too strong; now I often lose, but when she does pop off, it’s always in a new, extremely fun way. I don’t think there’s a card in there that’s more than $4 and most are under $1.

I’m building Zedruu next. Xira was my first deck, and my Jinnie Fay deck is my most fun.

My kid used to think it was called gender ale. I taught them about gender before teaching them about ginger!

I hope so fervently. It makes me queasy and I resent it so much. I hate how it has added more to my plate as a parent. I hate how it’s being forced on us.

It seems like with the speed with which large language models have permeated so many areas, the literacy rate might decline, though, unfortunately.

I read the article the other day and when I got to that paragraph I was so aghast. I told my 10-year-old I would haunt them if they use a chatbot to write my freaking obituary. But in the case of this dad, it was just the absolute saddest, bleakest, most terrible thing ever.

I used to really love reading my mom’s Redbook. She also got Women’s Day and Family Circle but Redbook was my favorite—it was a little more sophisticated. I was a Ranger Rick fan too. Magazines were the best.

This is a good and relatable analogy. Happened to me too—I miss being able to find my way around naturally.
