How Larry Summers’s Power Delayed the Reckoning Over His Epstein Ties The former Treasury Secretary and Harvard president’s enormous network and clout kept him immune from past Jeffrey Epstein revelations. But this time was just too much.

β€œClaudia Sahm, a former Fed economist who blasted Summers and others for sexism in a widely shared and highly critical 2020 blog post, sounded vindicated. β€œOkay, so maybe I wasn’t too mean to him…” she said on social media after the emails were made public last week.” www.wsj.com/us-news/larr...

Everybody loves brownfield-first. But where exactly should we densify our cities? And how?

Our new report shows Britain's density gap is wider in the biggest cities outside London than in the capital - and the inner city 'urban cores' up to 5km out from the centre are to blame.

I’m sorry that I cannot provide my recommendation. This is not due to your module grade, but the fact that we had very limited personal interaction.

As you know, students now make extensive use of AI tools, which can make it difficult to assess the extent to which written work reflects their own independent reasoning. Meeting regularly and discussing ideas in depth is usually the only reliable way for me to understand a student’s qualities and potential.

For these reasons, I generally reserve my references for students with whom I have had repeated and sustained engagement over time, as this is the only basis on which I can provide a well-rounded and meaningful assessment.

My door is always open for office hours and I encourage all students to come but few make use of it. In your case, I simply do not have enough direct insight into your work to write a reference that would be fair or helpful to you.

I wish you all the very best with your applications.

I will be sending this email a lot this year. Feel free to tell me it's problematic, but I've had it with students who don't show up and expect me to be in their corner.
