This is also how I feel about colouring black and white comic books but then even worse are cases like Miracleman where it started B & W, got colour reprints and then recoloured modern trades that look awful. It's unfortunate how secondary colouring feels when it comes to things like this

I don't think it's that harsh. It was definitely weird after GODS got cancelled and then he did 24 issues of Ultimate Spider-Man. A book he didn't want to do in the beginning. If anything, I think doing Ultimate Spider-Man gave him his mojo back
