the news is hell and we live in hell but today i co-hosted a brunch for myself and 10 other trans girls, co-hosted and cooked by an amazing ally and it was so so so wholesome and magical and beautiful.

whilst we are fighting for our freedom, we must not forget what it is like to be free x

as my belly tattoo says: we *can* build our own heavens.

the fight is important but please remember find time for joy, find time to giggle, find time to love yourself and your community.

i had to scroll past a bunch of pictures from this T Boy Gogo competition called DRILLED, and i accidentally clicked one of those photos & sent my PT a picture of 15 half naked trans mascs humping the stage instead of a picture of my back

now i took my progress photos a few days ago, because that’s when they were due, this means i had to scroll through a few pictures before i got to my progress photos

the app my PT uses for the progress though, is kinda janky - it does what it needs to, but you only get one option to upload your pictures… once it’s uploaded you can’t delete the pictures

guys the worst thing has happened: so i’m on a gross weightloss journey so the NHS will let me get bottom surgery and i have a PT who i have to send progress photos to each week right? so far so normal.

i’m not saying i won’t end up
leaving the industry, but if i do i will no longer do so with shame. i can hold
my head up high and know i made an impact and my legacy will live on in all the queer writers who follow in my size 9 footprints.

i’ve never made theatre for the establishment or for a traditional audience - but the work i have made has a life far bigger and far more impactful that i can even know.

obviously this writer was speaking hyperbolically because what actually got their career going was hard work & talent, but it was a reminder of why i do what i do.

I’ve had a year full of rejections so far, and i’ve really been questioning my place in this industry but today i got a voice note from a playwright i don’t know, whose brilliant play i had just seen - explaining how the show and their career was a direct result of a group i set up.
