Scientific rigor. Food reform. Facts over dogma & politics. Choose food to meet physiologic need. Health & normal weight is a birthright, not an injectable.

The new dietary guidelines with grains at the bottom of the pyramid is a HUGE step in the right direction, correcting mistakes that have been damaging the health of Americans for generations. It's regrettable that RFK & Trump are taking credit.

Can we agree to never use the word "journey" except in the context of travel? I'm tired of it.

CAC > 300 is equivalent to prior ASCVD for risk of future cardiovascular events.

One could consider treating someone with CAC > 300 as SECONDARY prevention, not primary prevention.

Similar risk = similar therapies.

PSA: Doritos, Gatorade, Froot Loops and Mac N Cheese without the vibrant colors are still junk "food". I don't know if food dye it toxic or not, but it's a win if duller colors leads to lower sales.

Doritos, Mac N Cheese, Cool Blast Gatorade, Froot Loops are every bit as junky with or without food colors. Yet if they are less appealing without the visual stimulus of vibrant colors, so much the better.

RFK Jr. Wants to Ban Chemical Dyes. Food Makers Are in No Hurry. Companies make packaged food without synthetic dyes in other countries. But despite pressure from Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the change isn’t likely to happen quickly in the United States.

Interesting. I had no idea before of all the implications of changing to natural food coloring. Yet I can't help thinking that none of the "food" products they are talking about in this articles are inherently healthy even with the food dyes removed. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/25/b...
