Other proposals would set Pa. on a two year state budget schedule, as 20 other states already do.

Another would continue pay for certain essential services dealing with domestic violence, mental and behavioral health, intellectual disabilities, and more.

One bill would freeze pay for lawmakers, the Gov and Lt. Gov until a budget is adopted.

Some lawmakers already voluntarily suspend their pay as a symbolic gesture. List below.

The 9 schools said they are still "reeling" from the cyber charter tuition changes that went into effect this year. They said they collectively lost $19.5 million in the first six months of this year due to the changes.

HB1500 includes the $8k per student tuition cap pushed by Gov. Shapiro and House Dems this year. The bill is estimated to save public schools $616 million dollars annually.

Those savings, the cyber charters said, amount to cuts to their schools.

9 cyber charter schools in Pa. sent a letter to lawmakers today saying they "will be forced to either close or ... drastically alter" their programs if provisions of HB1500 are included in the state budget.
