I've got a really horrible feeling based on an automated email I just got that the doctor's letter I paid for as medical evidence for my visa isn't going to be valid as my doctors isn't a "panel physician". So I'll have to pay a different doctor to say the same thing.

I do obviously know it is of its time, and I understand its importance. That doesn't mean I have to like it, though.

Barring one missing document, which I have now uploaded, my ethics application passed pre-screening without any other issues. So that's promising.

Over the last two years, there have been assaults, violent attacks on mosques, and anti-Muslim rhetoric from prominent figures on the far right. But there's also been renewed scrutiny of issues within Muslim communities, and how well integration has happened. There are questions about how well successive governments have engaged with Muslims to deal with issues in their own communities, and Islamophobia from outside.

So the BBC did an article about a Muslim man who got hideous racist abuse for appearing in a “Welcome” advert at Heathrow airport…
