In early 2024, #KULeuven and the Flemish Community acquired a rare second edition of #Vesalius' De Humani Corporis Fabrica. We began #digitizing it last year to preserve Vesalius' notes and corrections for future generations. It was great fun working on this project!

For valuable works, we always have two dedicated team members present. The fixation of the material is often done by hand, allowing the person manipulating the piece to feel the exact pressure needed. We also use lead weights wrapped in acid-free paper.
