Report 'sorry for the unusually high call volumes' recorded messages We want to test if some firms constantly play a 'sorry, we're experiencing unusually high call volumes' message to put people off staying on the line.

You can report this to St Martin of Lewis, here!!! www.moneysavingexpert.com/report-high-...

I suppose you Could consider the Greens β€œdivisiveβ€œ in that they’re the only major party not buying in to the establishment’s normalisation of right wing bigotry and hypercapitalism

Green party wins Gorton and Denton byelection, pushing Labour to third place in blow to Keir Starmer Hannah Spencer elected as party’s first MP in northern England, as Labour sees a 25.3% drop in vote compared to 2024

Every journalist who covered Reform’s conference but not the Greens’, or tried to conflate the two as both as bad as each other, or reported everything Farage said about immigration but not what Polanski did on wealth…

You guys took a hell of a beating.

My comment is going to be this
Using AI in education is like replacing the teacher with some random guy who repeats whatever he has heard down the pub. AI is not intelligent, it makes no judgements about what it hears. In no sense is it a professional tool.

Fair play to the guy he is absolutely set on doubling down, refusing to learn any lessons and driving the Labour party to extinction and I am so fucking here for it.

The fact that Starmer has absolutely no idea how to respond to the result without insulting voters should give his defenders pause. And yet

27.02.2026 11:55 β€” πŸ‘ 255    πŸ” 59    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 0

Labour are all over the place.

Heidi Alexander was this morning claiming that she and Hannah Spencer believed in much the same thing. There was no substantive criticism of the message beyond some muttering about 'security'.

Now Starmer is trying to paint Greens as 'extreme'.

Which is it?

SKY: Why didn't you run?

ZP: I've lived in London for twenty years and when there's a by-election there, I'll certainly consider it.

SKY: even though you're a mancunian?

ZP: I don't know if you just misheard me there but I said I'd lived in London for 20 years.

SKY: *angry, confused laughter*

Summary:

The electorate is restless.
Labour is rudderless.
Greens are hope.
Tories are hopeless.
And Reform’s silent majority has once again turned out to be a noisy minority.

anyone familiar with British politics will know that any news that isn't entirely negative will be closely followed by a sustained bombardment of misery that will make you want to fucking die. but currently it's Friday, it's payday, and the fascists have lost

Not sure how he thinks he can talk to the public in that tone of voice given the humiliating loss he just got handed

Of course, despite this massive defeat for Labour (and Reform), the government holds the Trump card. To win any election they want, they just need to do one thing:
actually make things better for ordinary people.

This is amazing.

I'm trying to work out if the Tories have ever lost their deposit in England before - they've lost their deposits in elections in Wales and Scotland before, and routinely lose their deposits in Northern Ireland, but I can't find evidence of them ever losing one in England.

I was at the count in Gorton and Denton last night and we all saw Matt Goodwin eat ballot papers. His girlfriend and team begged him to stop but he kept stuffing it into his mouth and making grunting sounds like the Cookie Monster

This is the thing. Their core voters aren't a majority - or even close to it - in many seats. Their policy of getting lots of people to absolutely detest them encourages both higher turnouts and tactical voting. This could mean a great many 2nd places, but few seats.

27.02.2026 10:29 β€” πŸ‘ 36    πŸ” 11    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

So many positives about Hannah Spencer’s win, but what stands out is her understanding of the main purpose of an MP’s role being to serve their local constituents, whoever they may be, in the best way possible.
