Now Starmer is trying to paint Greens as 'extreme'.

Of course, despite this massive defeat for Labour (and Reform), the government holds the Trump card. To win any election they want, they just need to do one thing:

I'm trying to work out if the Tories have ever lost their deposit in England before - they've lost their deposits in elections in Wales and Scotland before, and routinely lose their deposits in Northern Ireland, but I can't find evidence of them ever losing one in England.

This is the thing. Their core voters aren't a majority - or even close to it - in many seats. Their policy of getting lots of people to absolutely detest them encourages both higher turnouts and tactical voting. This could mean a great many 2nd places, but few seats.

So many positives about Hannah Spencer’s win, but what stands out is her understanding of the main purpose of an MP’s role being to serve their local constituents, whoever they may be, in the best way possible.
