Tarantino is a fool to dismiss Paul Dano.

Part of what makes The Batman so effective is him nailing the sadistic, delusive and egotistic nature of The Riddler perfectly even if not wearing a green suit and having a question mark topped cane. Could've been a throwaway role but he really commits.
