The secret power of a people’s movement is that it’s random.
It’s neighbors protecting immigrants from ICE. It’s millions canceling Disney+. It’s a man throwing a sandwich. It’s inflatable frogs dancing.
Dictators struggle to fight a movement, because they can’t do what they want most—control us.

A letter dated 9/22/25
Subject: Unified Demands and Filibuster If Not Received
To All Democratic U.S. Senators,
The time for polite restraint is over. Democratic leaders have faced threats just last week, and political violence is rising fast. You must stop holding back and fight hard. Since Trump took office, Senate Democrats have wasted chances or refused to act decisively. The stakes keep climbing. The upcoming budget package is the next critical battle. We need to see bold, unapologetic leadership now.
If you do not act forcefully, our democracy will continue to be hollowed out. Mass surveillance will become normalized, driven by secretive security agencies like ICE and CBP. The Department of Homeland Security is building databases that could soon restrict voting rights and freedom of movement.
Free speech is under attack, with dissent silenced and the press evolving into propaganda. Even naturalized and birthright citizens risk losing rights based on race, religion, or origin.
Whether you welcome the role or not, the Democratic Party must now act as a true opposition party, defending democracy against authoritarian encroachment. As senators, you have the power to resist. The upcoming end of the federal fiscal year is your next opportunity. Use it.
Block the passage of the federal budget.
We celebrate Senator Schumer’s clear commitment to defending healthcare, and we applaud the demands to extend the ACA tax credits and protect Medicaid from cuts to fund tax breaks for the wealthy, or Democrats will not vote to pass the budget.
While healthcare is undeniably vital to millions of Americans, such a narrow strategy puts you – and us, the people you represent – in the indefensible position of enabling and effectively endorsing the many other atrocities being carried out in our name, both at home and abroad. This must not be allowed to happen...
(continued in the alt text of the next image)
(insufficient character limit. apologies.)
A government shutdown may be our last wake-up call to the American people, many of whom are unaware, misinformed, or in denial about the scale of the threat. Only bold action will force a national reckoning and give us a fighting chance to reverse course.
We urge you to use this moment to also demand:
An end to this administration’s unlawful deployment of the National Guard and federal forces to occupy American cities and terrorize civilians
Prohibit masked ICE, CBP, and federal agents from terrorizing communities through secretive, due process-free raids, and mandate visible ID, full transparency on targeting practices, and public reporting on who is being detained
An end to budget rescissions that terminate funding already approved by Congress
An end to efforts requiring restrictive voter ID laws and eliminating vote-by-mail access
An end to the DHS, DOJ, and Palantir’s creation of the massive SAVE master database — the foundation for a future police state, built on secret electronic dossiers tracking every man, woman, and child in the United States
Slash the Department of Homeland Security’s funding back to 2024 levels
A full reinstatement of all the fired independent inspectors generals
A full reinstatement of all the fired members of the NLRB and EEOC
A full reinstatement of the funding cuts to PBS
A full resumption of the CFPB and USAID
The repeal of harmful tariffs and adherence to trade laws
Halt the construction and shut down all newly built immigration detention centers
Senators, America is at a crossroads. You must rise to meet this moment and stand against the authoritarian threat that looms. You can defend the principles of democracy, the dignity of every person, and the values that truly make this nation great.
We call on you, our elected representatives, to use your voice, and your office, to lead in this fight. The time is now. The American people are depending on you.

Welcome to the Georgia Power club of customers paying electric bills the size of car payments. Please vote out the incumbents in November 4th -they must be held accountable and their replacements WILL be able to lower bills 20-30% by reducing Ga Power’s INSANE profit margins just to industry norms.

Some wins! Per Ben Raderstorf, "Holding on to incremental wins is part of how we blunt the shock-and-awe strategy coming from the White House. Donald Trump wants you to feel overwhelmed and despondent. In fact, he’s counting on it — that’s the only way the authoritarian project succeeds."

@avondaleaction.bsky.social Trump is ramping up his attacks on our rights and democracy, but we’re not backing down. On October 18, we’re taking to the streets in more cities and in larger numbers to remind Trump, his cronies, and those on the sidelines looking for hope: America has no kings.
