that said, i'm cautiously hopeful that his 卡位 will rise with his turn as bai yutang in 雨霖铃 🙏

it wasn't until he sat down for table-read that he realized how poorly written the role was 😭 like there's actual bts footage of him chatting w/ the director about how to go about fixing the logical inconsistencies in his characterization orz

yea fangfang mentioned in an interview that when he signed onto 长歌行 he only had a vague description of his character, who's basically an oc (technically wei shuyu's a historical figure, but he doesn't show up in the og manhua)

yea the action scenes look pretty good, tho there haven't been that many so far

have not read the novel so i'm just going in blind lol

i guess the simplest way to put it is: it took me twice as long to finish this show bc i paused it so frequently to 吐槽 that a 45 minute episode would take me nearly two hours to complete
