One of the things I always wished I could find was a brush that would feel like a mechanical pencil where you wore the tip of the lead to an angle. The drawing there kind of gives me those vibes. Like if the precise lines & smooth shading are all in one thing, gotta try that one out!

No seriously this is hilarious so far. Need to fix a few things though.

The more I work on this model, the more it looks nice and it makes me want to polish it to look like it really could have been ripped from Finding Nemo or something. Retopo done, now on to rough color in Substance Painter. I was thinking about trying 3dCoat for some hand painting.

And almost forgot, if you want to see the turnaround, that's attached. Had to save it out in Nomad because Blender was trying to fight me.

3d sculpt that appears to be sort of a collectible figure of an anime-ish girl who is waving. She's very bright and colorful, mostly pastel, wearing a jacket off one shoulder, a cropped tee beneath, and a miniskirt. One leg has legwarmers, the other is covered in bright tattoos. She has purple-grey hair and lots of hairclips of varying colors. The stand for the figure is three stars sweeping up, which she is standing on.

Same character as previous, close up at a slightly different angle. It's obvious she has one normal eye and one that's star shaped.

I'm still around, just been busy! Really happy with how this sculpt turned out, finished this past weekend. Character belongs to @sp11ca.bsky.social. Primarily done in Zbrush but the hair and small accessories were done in Blender, and I tried out a new hair plugin.

Her hair is a darker blue but marked with glowing gold streaks, and she has similar gold glowing freckles across her face.

An African violet leaf still attached to the plant, roughly quarter sized with white variegation mostly along the edges. A finger is on the edge of the pic holding the leaf. The leaf has a significant V-shaped bite out of the side of it.

They don't put "parrot damage" in the list of problems you might have with your African violet.

Jules then flew back for a second bite while I sent that image to a friend. Sigh.

Whew. I think I'm finally done with that #vtuber model I've been working on since like.. Months ago. Pretty dang happy with the result! Done in a mix of Nomad, a teeny bit of Zbrush (comparatively), Blender, and Substance Painter.

I'm still comparatively new at Procreate too, but I also come bearing brush suggestions! The ones I got and really like are the Max Packs brushes -- I think the ones I liked were in the Essentials & Painters packs. maxpacks.com
