DNA from wolf pupβs last meal reveals new facts about woolly rhinoβs extinction
A new study shows the woolly rhino was not the inbred, genetically doomed species scientists had thought.
Amazing what you can find in a wolf pup's stomach after 15,000 years. Woolly rhino DNA shows that despite a long decline to extinction, they maintained genetic variation. The eaten rhino did not die because it was inbred.
