Yuri!!! On Ice is still absolutely one of my favorite anime’s, and now I’ve watched it 3 times through.

Heated Rivalry is a very artfully shot and acted live action adaptation of Yuri On Ice

There has been a deluge of articles pitying a mature actor who's been in the industry for 20+ years for getting some criticism (which is also never addressed beyond "shipping"). But somehow no one is writing about the intense racially motivated hatred against a 24 y/o lead... How come? 🤔🤷

I finally watched Heated Rivalry, and I have… thoughts. Emotions, mainly, because it was a beautiful show, but I was also strongly reminded of Yuri on Ice and the wonderful years I’ve spent in that fandom.

the repetitive articles all solely focus on the rpf H&C fans. However, the F&C shippers are often much more violent and vile, both in their attacks on H and in the blatant objectification and fetishisation of C. A significant segment of the fandom is racist and misogynist, but no one writes about it

hatred is in fact Hudson, who is facing non-stop racially motivated attacks (often by people who "ship" F&C and want Hudson out of the picture). F's comments about inserting Scott in Shane's place are also driving a movement of people who want a white couple as the show's protagonists. And finally +

There is more than one glaring issue in the fandom though; first, the people who avidly ship F&C are in fact contributing to a young actor's non-consensual outing, and your article highlighting the unfounded dating speculations is doing the same. kinda want to draw stolitz in couples yoga poses like i did with these viktuuri ones back in 2017 but the size difference would make it difficult 😭 though i guess they ARE creative and flexible
