This entire game--the entire series, the entire season--came down to a discrete series of dingers, lucky catches, hits that fell a few feet short ... just an absolutely wild & random series of contingencies. I can honestly think of about a dozen specific moments that could have gone the other way.

It still boggles my mind that so many people couldn't grasp last year how significantly more morally depraved a second Trump term would be in comparison to the first. And how so many people still can't comprehend that our national crisis isn't about politics, but simple morality.

I've wanted to see more of this for a long time. And I'd love to know if there is any longitudinal data that could tell us whether the public has become less informed over the years.

Wow. "Months after law firms made deals with President Trump to ward off punitive executive orders, the ethics committee of the District of Columbia Bar is warning that such arrangements may require firms to drop or obtain waivers from all clients who have interests at odds with the government."

Astonishing turn of events over the course of about 12 hours.

Judge Olguin ordered DOJ to cough up the names of the attorneys who did the (apparently incomplete or erroneous) reviews of material required to be disclosed to defense counsel.

Rather than comply, DOJ is dismissing the case!

Unfortunately, the evidence suggesting he ever had any is quite thin

Would it not be wiser to set the FBI onto to finding the enemies within who stole the President's marbles?

Again, I'm in the cheap seats here just watching the show, but the fact that the richest Americans are acting with such open contempt for the rest of the nation seems not just bad for the country but possibly *really* bad for their own fates too.

They're making a different bet now, it seems.

This thread makes a point I find myself coming to often these days.

It's hard to make this point in a way that doesn't sound like a threat, but it's just a fact that for centuries the wealthy in America worried that the mob would come get them and did all they could to avoid that fate.
