One of the most rewarding things about teaching Drawing Illness is firstly, telling students they do not have to draw like Leonardo da Vinci to do well in the class, that comics are a medium that you can excel at even if you do stick figures. And then seeing their creativity explode and develop.

Also, no one starts off knowing how to draw well.
YOU HAVE TO DRAW BADLY FIRST TO GET BETTER.
You have to draw daily, badly, before you ever get better.
And its fun, sometimes, and painful, sometimes.
