What's awful about the closure in particular is that one failed project, especially one aligned with a greater push inside Sony for live-service games, should not be enough to sink a studio inside that ecosystem. I do not believe that there were no pitches for a worthwhile project for a whole year.

Also, I can only assume a studio with as much talent as Bluepoint would want to lead a project all their own instead of (lovingly, brilliantly, better than anyone before them) recreating works from years past. If that had to be a live-service GoW game, I can imagine that sounding like a cool deal.

I'm #1 live-service hater but I don't want to discount any of the heart or passion that any members of Bluepoint may have had for their canceled project. These projects aren't always foisted on developers, and even when they are, the challenge can be rewarding.

I think a properly min-maxed giant mom build would actually outdo giant dad at current patch. since motm boosts HP by 10% and motf boosts equip load by 5%, it's probably better to put extra points into endurance to make up the gap.

Let both of these games be a lesson in internal feedback and sentiment. You must never rest on any laurels. Nothing will ever be owed to you. And the only people with the power to right these ships are the ones at the helm.

I believe success is bc of the team, and failure is bc of leadership.

I never had a lot of confidence in Avengers, though. It was a wildly ambitious idea for a game and I did not feel project leadership understood how ambitious it was. Player reaction to that game was a kind of grief I had already processed (and perhaps shared too loudly). But I am still proud of it.
