In Praise of California It has its flaws β€” what place doesn’t? β€” but it plays a big role in America’s greatness

"California paid in a lot more [to the federal government] than it got back β€” $83 billion in total. So did Washington state and much of the Northeast. Most red states were in the reverse position, getting much more from DC than they paid in return."

Oh yes I did read the book cover to cover half a century ago!

Scary the amount of books one can read in half a century 🀣

I'm a big science fiction and science fan but have also read deeply into many arcane subjects, including Thomas Paine and Nikola Tesla

Thank you for following me and for taking the time to write Zen and the Art of ...

A long time ago, my calculus professor in high school suggested I read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

I'm an optimist that if enough people work together we can do this!

#climatechange

The CROPS android app (and the CROPS website) contain a learning section that is often useful in providing well organized information about climate change

It also explains the CROPS natural carbon recycling concept which eliminates the need for crop burning

Just a heads up that the CROPS team for #CarbonRemoval is releasing what we think is a bit of climate hope

The CROPS process is now summarized in an app available for Android smartphones
and the "learn more" button on our website

Google Play search for:

Modern agriculture captures and releases almost 10 billion tonnes of carbon every year

Sequestering 30% of that in the deep ocean each year will result in 3 billion tons of carbon being removed each year - half the net increase

We're ready to start scaling this approach, there is hope!

Just make sure you don't keep any salt in the car in the winter

If you get pulled over for speeding, they might charge you with a-salt and battery πŸ€ͺ

Because most cars turn off power to the USB ports after about an hour of the car's inactivity, one of the tricks I use is to get a high quality USB battery pack that can both charge and discharge simultaneously

The battery pack keeps your phone charging and recharges itself when the car is in use

They do fine in Norway I'm told.

The one I drive does great, and at high altitude there's no issue with loss of efficiency

I find that cost of use is half what it was with internal combustion engines

In South Florida, β€˜black snow’ makes breathing difficult for some Black and Latino residents After Florida State University published a study about the effects of burning sugar cane on marginalized communities, residents say it’s time to stop the practice.

One of the advantages of the CROPS system is it eliminates the need for, and all the problems created by, crop burning

Addressing climate change: plants instead of plants? Rather than an industrial solution to excess atmospheric carbon dioxide, a retired UCI physicist looks to nature

Here is a link to the article published by the University of California at Irvine about CROPS and my close friend Gregory Benford, who was one of the 3 originators of the Crop Residue Ocean Permanent Sequestration concept in 2001

Just read your ARS article on ethical geoengineering and very much appreciate your efforts to educate and inform during a very unstable time for civilization

If you would be kind enough to follow me, I would like to DM you directly

Thank you for what you're doing!

35 years ago I started participating in what is now called social media

30 years ago I built an online system that was ahead of its time based on virtual reality interaction between people

This is the first time I've seen it done right!

Crop Residue Ocean Permanent Sequestration (CROPS) is the natural carbon pollution solution capable of safely and permanently recycling carbon to the deep ocean bottom

CROPS stops crop burning and creates jobs with meaningful social justice

CROPS applies globally from indigenous to national levels
