No time for Trump/Farage populist b*llocks. Live and let live and just be nice to each other.

Former Grantham Tory councillor quits Reform UK after 20 days Mark Whittington will now sit on South Kesteven District Council as an unaligned independent member.

Just hoping that one day soon, people will tire of targeting and terrifying asylum seekers and instead, they will turn on politicians who whip up hatred and division to grab at power for themselves…
They are the ones who are failing us.
Not these people.
Prejudice can never make anyone’s life better

The reform party nativity scene.

No unmarried mothers. No Middle Eastern people. No refugees. No people seeking emergency accommodation.

And not a wise fvcking man in sight…

Back in the 1960s, the Smothers Brothers made fun of President Lyndon Johnson and his policies many times on their popular television show. The president wrote them a letter in response.

Agree that Reform is basically an English Nationalist party that has gained some traction in Scotland and Wales.

I can't believe that after the disaster of Brexit, people would vote for him.

Totally agree. But like Trump and January 6th it seems like these things don't matter to some.

Absolutely. In the UK the Reform party of Trump supporter, Nigel Farage, currently leads in all opinion polls. I hope the British people are looking at the US and thinking they don't want that over here, but I'm worried a significant number of voters like it.

Sorry @theipaper.com but WHY is this guy talking to us about what will make the UK poorer? He was happy to grenade our economy twice…
Brexit and then his batshit budget with Truss.
He should be in political oblivion for the mess he made and the price we all have to pay for his party’s failures.

Does the Speaker of the House know what's going on in the country?

It's not clear that he does, as Mike Johnson's communication strategy seems to rely heavily on being unaware.

When faced with questions he should be able to answer, he has a reliable response: "I don't know."

Thank you to @mrjamesob.bsky.social for having me on, one of the v few people in the UK press to follow this story during what is now a decade of media apathy &/or complicity

Underpinning everything, you do not want politicians deciding who is British based on their personal prejudices.

Deportation will also not improve the life of those left behind - plenty of evidence for that.

Ultimately, let's talk about what will improve the country.

Well said, David. The sheer lunacy and inhumanity of what Lam said cannot be overemphasized.

Let's not humour those advocating deportation of UK residents with reasons why their plans would not work.

Keep it simple, this is not the action of a civilised country.

If needed, this will mean complete chaos and destruction of international reputation.

My 14-year-old self would never have guessed that, in 50 years' time, all the world's music would be available at the click of a button, you'd navigate the globe by carrying a tiny computer around in your pocket, and the US President would post a video of himself shitting over American citizens.

My message to Republicans based on what I’ve seen firsthand at a No Kings protest and via photos and video of protests nationwide: Y’all whacked a hornet’s nest. You can pretend the swarm ain’t there, but that won’t keep you from getting stung.
