"Not even going to think about what that means," Lilah replied, eyeing the clothes that 'aren't even La Brecha's'.

"Is the shower yours, too? Any surprises I need to be aware of? Because wolfing out in the shower will make everything smell like wet dog for a long time."

"You haven't even been rude. That's been my job so far."

Leaning against the frame of the closet, she crossed her arms.

"What about that purple one?"

"You're actually serious about the date thing, aren't you? Like an actual date where I happen to also be arm candy? What if there's no connection? Gonna be disappointed if you can't get into my pants?"

"I could always leave when I like. Someone like you couldn't hold me back anyway. I just don't care what side of things you're on. I keep my moral compass next to my liver."

"Uh huh. That still sounds like villain speak. Shaping the narrative and all that? S'long as there's no price on your head I don't really care what side your on. And if you're paying for more drinks than that price, we can negotiate."

"Uh huh. So who am I supposed to think I'm talking to?" she stared.

"Because I'm wondering if I should be seen with certain company. Not that I care, I really don't. But I don't want anymore trouble than what I already deal with."

"I've been told that before," she replied curtly.

"You got a tailor on call who'd do a suit in an hour? Fine, alright, who are you?"

"I'm just making sure you're well aware of the risk. Which is more than I do for some people, so I guess that makes you special, honey."

It was met with plenty of grumbling but no objection.

The stuff she did for drinks.

"Also not my fault of being caught with a werewolf stains your public image or whatever."

"As long as you don't need the suit returned in one piece. Can't guarantee that. But fine." She sighed. "The things I do for a drink."

The less than subtle flirt was either missed or ignored.

"I'm not a Barbie, don't try to dress me up. You want to treat me to drinks, sure, I'll even shower beforehand, but I've got limits."

"Me in a dress? Honey, there are worse ideas but that's definitely up there. Hard pass on that option."

"You wanting me as arm candy I get. But the second anybody looks into who I am, well, that'll come back to bite you. But if you don't mind that and you're paying for drinks, I'll be your arm candy."

"You'd rather be seen with me than on your own? That's almost touching if it wasn't also, y'know, really sad."

"You're looking for a date and just ready to take one from whoever comes to you first? That's sad. I'm in."
