On Wednesday, I spoke to the board during the FY27 Budget Hearing about the need for FCPS Maryland to increase staff pay, decrease class sizes, and meet the needs of Special Education students.

In looking at the 80ish-page document shared in today's work session, it's clear that FCPS is a careful and honest steward of federal, state, and county funds. Look, to those who want to scrimp and cut and slash at what we spend on public education, I can only say, you get what you pay for.

On Wednesday, I attended the BOE meeting and heard public comment from students, parents, and community members. Budget seems to be on everyone's minds; from IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) to RVP (Remote Virtual Learning), funding concerns top the list.
